ROC CONGRESS DEBATES AUDIT ON SUPERVISION

The Statutory Auditors meet in Congress for yet another moment of extended discussion on the challenges of the profession, its connection to the context of the Audit and the analysis of good practices in the sector. The debate on the present and future of the profession, which takes place on the 15th and 16th of September, in Lisbon, has the participation of the President of the Republic, the Minister of Finance and the Minister of Economy.

 

Lisbon, September 05, 2016 - The Statutory Auditors (ROC) meet in Congress, in an event that will count on the participation of the President of the Republic, as well as the Minister of Finance, Mário Centeno and the Minister of Economy, Manuel Caldeira Cabral. Subordinated to the theme “Auditing in Supervision”, the XII Congress of ROC will take place on the 15th and 16th of September, at Forum Lisboa, in Lisbon.

For José Azevedo Rodrigues, President of the Order of Statutory Auditors (OROC), “This edition of the Congress of the ROC proposes to consider the current status of Audit and Supervision, at a time of global supervision and in view of an active logic of democratic control by society over public and private institutions. Auditing being one of the areas of supervision, it becomes necessary to reflect on the various elements that influence it, drawing lessons and lessons on how it is possible to carry out cross-control of different institutions in the national economy. As an organization open to the best practices and which has always been guided by rigor, confidence and evolution in the performance of the Auditors, this initiative appears to be fundamental to enhance this debate among professionals in the sector, their responsible, managers, managers and the context in which Audit has its place. ”

The event will feature panels of stakeholders, where great personalities from different areas will participate and themes of Economy, Corporate Governance, Information Technologies, Markets and Information, Public Sector, Public Interest, Behavior will be addressed. , finally, the Auditor's Challenges, in a discussion that encompasses the evolution and relevance of the Audit activity, also addressing issues of professional organization, insertion in national and international supervisory institutions, technologies to support the practice of the profession and reflection about the professional's performance.

In line with one of the central messages to the OROC discourse, the discussion to take place at the XII Congress aims to highlight the character of the profession's rigor and transparency and the nature of the reviewer as a privileged partner of organizations in guaranteeing best practices within the scope of Supervision.
