Exhibition: “Arab-Islamic Memories, Dialogue between Civilizations”
The National Archive of Torre do Tombo presents a documentary exhibition within the scope of the Arab Journeys promoted by the Arab-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The civilizational dialogue between Portugal and the Arab-Islamic World has long been established. Lisbon, May 15, 2017 - The National Archive of Torre do Tombo is associated, with a documentary exhibition, to the holding of the 3rd Edition of the Arab Journeys “Arab-Islamic Memories, Dialogue between Civilizations” of the Arab-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, to take place next May 17th in your auditorium. The documentary exhibition takes place from Monday to Saturday, at different times: from Monday to Friday, from 09:30 am to 19:30 pm; Saturday, from 09:30 am to 16:00 pm. Entrance is free.

This exhibition is part of an initiative that aims to promote the debate and the sharing of knowledge about the Arab-Islamic legacy in the Portuguese space, which will take place on the 17th and 18th of May, in Lisbon and in Sintra, with the High Sponsorship and presence of the President of the Republic and is organized in close collaboration with the Union of Arab Chambers, the League of Arab States and the Arab Embassies accredited in Portugal.

Day May 17, 2017, will be reserved for a Colloquium in the Auditorium of the National Archives of Torre do Tombo, in Lisbon, with the participation of High Individualities from the political, cultural and academic life of Portugal, the Arab Countries and Spain, where they will be focused, in the various Sessions, themes directly related to the Arab-Islamic Historical, Cultural and Civilizational Legacy.

They are scheduled for the second day, May 18, 2017, guided visits to Lisbon and Sintra, in which it is intended to highlight some of the legacies and urban traces and other testimonies of the Arab-Islamic presence in Portugal.

This event is open to all those who wish to broaden their knowledge on the topics to be addressed, being addressed to Civil Society in general, Portuguese, Arabic and Spanish.
