National Emergency | Montepio Acredita Portugal Contest in digital format
Due to the current context of national emergency and social isolation, the second call registration for the Montepio Acredita Portugal contest was extended until April 25. For the same reason, most of the selection phases of the 10th anniversary special edition of the initiative take place in digital format, bringing together entrepreneurs, mentors and partners from a distance.
In the context of the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Montepio Acredita Portugal entrepreneurship contest adopted an initial digital format. For the same reason, the second call registration for the initiative will be extended for two weeks, now running until April 25, 2020.
As Fernando Fraga, Innovation Director at Acredita Portugal, explains, “In view of the current context, it is impossible to carry out the contest in the format of previous editions. But we want to continue to support the development of the thousands of ideas already registered, because we have the capacity to implement alternative solutions that enable the realization of the initiative and that these entrepreneurs receive mentoring and follow-up that allows them to develop the projects and, thus, assist their possible entry or consolidation in the market ”.
In a 100% online format, the development of the submitted ideas takes place until May 17, 2020. The semifinalists will be known on June 1.
Seminafilistas of each category will have to send their pitch to the respective jury until the 15th of June. Following are the project evaluation semifinals, which will also take place in digital format, with a date set for June 20 and 27. Participants will be contacted these days by the jury in order to clarify the necessary points of the pitch and obtain feedback.
The competition's acceleration program will run from July 4th to August 1st. This phase can also take place digitally. However, if it is feasible, it will happen in person in order to increase the impact on the finalist projects.
The final Gala of the contest is scheduled for September 12.
