S.A., which aims to identify, recognize, and support projects in the start-up or expansion phase related to the water, sanitation, and stormwater management sectors (and environmental sustainability across these three areas). It also aims to foster a spirit of initiative and recognize the founders of innovative companies in the sector, evaluating projects holistically based on criteria centered on business potential and the entrepreneurs\u2018 profiles. The winning project will have the opportunity to be incubated by \u00c1guas de Gaia and will qualify to participate in \u2019Eurovision for Startups.\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The H2O Innovation Award received 226 entries, which were among a total of more than 10,000 ideas submitted to the competition. The awards ceremony will take place in September; this year, the event will be held in a 100% format. <em>online<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Miguel Lemos Rodrigues, CEO of \u00c1guas de Gaia, explains the company\u2019s involvement in the initiative <em>\u201cas a platform to foster innovation projects that have a tangible impact on improving the services provided to the community and on people\u2019s quality of life. \u00c1guas de Gaia\u2019s mission\u2014in its role of promoting effective resource management and fostering the environment and the well-being of the population\u2014brings with it a vision and experience that we consider to be of immense value in helping new ideas chart a course that will enable their future implementation and consolidation.\u201d<\/em>. As the mayor explains, this support is part of the development of <em>\u201ca strategy for fostering discussion on sustainable development and creating mechanisms for civic reflection\u201d<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The three finalist projects were selected by a panel of judges composed of members of the \u00c1guas de Gaia and Acredita Portugal teams:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>SCEMAI\u00a0<\/strong>\u2013 A project that aims to maximize energy efficiency and monitor malfunctions using artificial intelligence models and data analysis, thereby optimizing production.<\/li>\n<li><strong>Modular Drainage Paving<\/strong>\u2013 A solution that addresses seven of the UN\u2019s Sustainable Development Goals, restores soil permeability, reduces stormwater management costs, allows for architectural flexibility, and improves the microenvironment.<\/li>\n<li><strong>More Water \/ RacionaLUSO<\/strong>\u2013 Collection, treatment, and reuse of water and energy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Further information is available at <a href=\"https:\/\/acreditaportugal.pt\/aguas-de-gaia-h20\/\">https:\/\/acreditaportugal.pt\/aguas-de-gaia-h20\/<\/a><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><strong>About Acredita Portugal:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Acredita Portugal is a non-profit organization focused on the development and promotion of national entrepreneurship, which was born in 2008 by Jos\u00e9 Miguel Queimado.
