The cultural dialogue between Portugal and the Arab-Islamic world has long been established. This exhibition consists of 17 documents dating from the 13th to the 19th centuries. <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-full wp-image-9579\" src=\"https:\/\/say-u.pt\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/banner_Jornadas\u00c1rabes-v2.jpg\" alt=\"banner_ArabConference - v2\" width=\"1598\" height=\"344\" \/><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Lisbon, May 15, 2017<\/strong> \u2013 The Torre do Tombo National Archives is participating in the 3rd edition of the Arab Days with a documentary exhibition titled \u201cArab-Islamic Memories, Dialogue Among Civilizations,\u201d organized by the Arab-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which will take place on May 17 in its auditorium. The documentary exhibition runs from Monday through Saturday, with varying hours: Monday through Friday, from 9:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.; Saturday, from 9:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Admission is free.<\/p>\n<p>This exhibition is part of an initiative aimed at promoting debate and the sharing of knowledge regarding the Arab-Islamic legacy in Portugal. It will take place on May 17 and 18, in Lisbon and Sintra. It enjoys the High Patronage and the presence of the President of the Republic and is organized in close collaboration with the Union of Arab Municipalities, the League of Arab States, and the Arab embassies accredited to Portugal.<\/p>\n<p>The Day<strong> May 17, 2017<\/strong>, will be set aside for a symposium to be held in the Auditorium of the Torre do Tombo National Archives in Lisbon, with the participation of prominent figures from the political, cultural, and academic spheres of Portugal, the Arab countries, and Spain, where the focus will be, the various sessions will focus on topics directly related to the Arab-Islamic historical, cultural, and civilizational legacy.<\/p>\n<p>Scheduled for the second day are, <strong>May 18, 2017,<\/strong> Guided tours of Lisbon and Sintra, designed to highlight some of the architectural legacies and remnants, as well as other evidence, of the Arab-Islamic presence in Portugal.<\/p>\n<p>This event is open to anyone interested in expanding their knowledge of the topics to be discussed, and is aimed at civil society in general\u2014including Portuguese, Arab, and Spanish participants.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h6><strong>About CCIAP:<\/strong><\/h6>\n<h6>Founded in 1977, the Arab-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and Industry is a nonprofit association \/ public benefit organization.
