6 steps to achieve the objectives
- Vision
A company must have a well-defined vision. Employees need to know where they are going. It's a long-term proposal. For example: to be the national benchmark organization in sales online.
- Objectives
These are results that the company wants to achieve in order to reach its Vision. They therefore have to meet the Vision. For example: if you want to be a national benchmark company in the sale of onlineone of the objectives may be to increase sales online in 20% by the end of the year. Objectives must be measurable, to help us understand whether they support our Vision. Objectives must be realistic, clear and time-bound.
- Strategy
The strategy is what we're going to do to achieve the objectives. Following the example above, we can say that we are going to bet heavily on social media presence, for example.
- Tactics
Tactics are tools for putting our strategy into practice. If our strategy is to improve performance on social networks, we should hire a Digital Marketing specialist or entrust this type of task to an agency.
- Execution
Tactics are no use if you don't implement them correctly. We may have already created a presence on social media, but if we don't promote ourselves properly, the goals won't be achievable. Creating interesting and appealing content and promoting it on social media is a good way of creating traffic to the page where we are selling our products or services.
- Key Performance Indicators (KPI's)
When the plan is being implemented, we need to evaluate whether we are achieving the proposed objectives. That way, we can always adjust the strategy and tactics if they are not going as planned.
