SUCCESS STEPS | Women Entrepreneurs

According to a global study, Portugal is a good country to work in. entrepreneurship and there are several cases that prove it.

Women's empathetic capacity and so-called "multitasking" are favorable points of female leadership. Today, we list some cases of women who have distinguished themselves through their work and who have proved that "the business world" is no longer, and never has been, just a man's world.

 

Mariana Santos - Chicas Poderosas

Mariana Santos is the founder of the "Chicas Poderosas" movement, a project that was born in Latin America and whose mission is to create technology-related skills for women. She is also currently the CEO of Unicom Interactive, a renowned digital content start-up.

 

Susana Sargento - Veniam

Susana Sargento is a scientific researcher and professor at the University of Aveiro who set up the technology company Veniam in 2012, together with João Barros. The company develops technology to network cars, turn them into access points and collect information about the vehicles, allowing for better management of traffic and public transport networks.

Susana Sargento has been awarded the EU Women Innovators Prize 2016 by the European Commission.

 

Sara do Ó - Your Group

Sara do Ó was only 26 when she set up her first company. Eight years later, she heads the Your Group, which has more than 500 clients, employs 70 people and has a turnover of 2.5 million euros. Currently, in addition to this company, there are six others in different sectors: insurance or service, brand communication, human resources and financial consultancy.
