10th edition of the Montepio Acredita Portugal Contest in digital format

National Emergency Montepio Acredita Portugal competition in digital format

National emergency

Due to the current context of national emergency and social isolation, the second call The registration period for the Montepio Acredita Portugal competition has been extended until April 25. For the same reason, most of the selection phases for the special 10th anniversary edition of the initiative will take place in digital format, bringing together entrepreneurs, mentors and partners at a distance.

In the context of the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Montepio Acredita Portugal entrepreneurship contest has adopted a digital start-up format. For the same reason, the second call registration for the initiative will be extended by two weeks, until April 25, 2020.

As Fernando Fraga, Innovation Director at Acredita Portugal, explains, "Given the current context, it is impossible to hold the competition in the format of previous editions. But we want to continue to support the development of the thousands of ideas already registered, because we have the capacity to implement alternative solutions that make it possible for the initiative to take place and for these entrepreneurs to receive the mentoring and support that will enable them to develop their projects and thus help their eventual entry or consolidation in the market."

In a 100% online format, the development of the ideas submitted runs until May 17, 2020. The semi-finalists will be announced on June 1.

The semi-finalists in each category will have to send their pitch to the respective jury by June 15. This will be followed by the project evaluation semi-finals, which will also take place in digital format, on June 20 and 27. Participants will be contacted on these days by the jury in order to clarify the necessary points of the pitch and obtain feedback.

The competition's acceleration program will run from July 4 to August 1. This phase can also take place digitally. However, if feasible, it will take place in person in order to broaden the impact on the finalist projects.

The final gala of the competition is scheduled for September 12th.
