September 14, 2022, LisbonMaria João Vaz is Mazars' new Sustainability Director in Portugal and will be responsible for leading the firm's new line of service in the domestic market. The move comes in the context of Mazars' global response to environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues that are increasingly at the top of the list of concerns for decision-makers and stakeholders. stakeholders.

Maria João Vaz has over 20 years' experience in sustainability consultancy. She was Managing Partner and Co-founder of Stravillia, having been responsible for different technical areas in the company and coordinating various sustainability projects in the areas of strategy, reporting & assuranceShe has also worked on environmental and social audits, SDG implementation and other transversal projects in terms of managing ESG factors. She has also worked for companies such as BSD Consulting, PricewaterhouseCoopers and Sair da Casca, with experience as a trainer and in the development of various training courses. She has a degree in Environmental Engineering from FCT-NOVA.
