Montepio Acredita Portugal competition has more than 10,000 entries

Lisbon, February 28, 2019 - The 9th edition of the Montepio Acredita Portugal competition, the largest entrepreneurship competition in Portugal and the second largest in the world, had a total of 10,340 entries.

The category of Social Entrepreneurshipsupported by Banco Montepio, which is also naming sponsor The competition received 2,098 applications. The best project in this area will have the opportunity to be incubated for 6 months at Impact Hub Lisboa.

O Brisa Mobility Award 2019The competition, supported by Brisa, received 362 applications from mobility projects. The winner will receive support in the Go To Market phase and may also be incubated by Brisa itself.

The tech entrepreneurs who applied for the K.Tech AwardA total of 1,759 applications were submitted for this award, promoted by KCS iT, which focuses mainly on the application of new information technologies and their implementation in traditional business areas. The best project is supported to enter the market, namely through a grant of hours to implement best practices at PMI level.

The Autonomous AwardThe award, which focuses on the area of communication and is promoted by the Autonomous University of Lisbon (UAL), received 449 applications. The winner of this award will receive a scholarship from UAL, valid for any of its undergraduate, master's or postgraduate courses.

O H2O Innovation Award by Águas de Gaia received 207 applications for projects related to water and sustainability, with the best project being able to represent Portugal at the "Eurovision for Startups".

Entrepreneurs from other business areas, who are also supported by Acredita Portugal and who fall into other categories within the competition, also applied. In addition to the prizes mentioned above, the best projects receive a package of services, including business card printing from 360 Imprimir, training vouchers from Flag, legal support from Vieira de Almeida, a grant of accounting hours from Grupo Your and support in developing a communication plan from Say U Consulting, among others.

The 150 semi-finalists will be selected on April 6th

The 150 semi-finalists will be selected on April 6, 2019 and only the 21 candidates will go through to the next stage. The winners will be announced on June 8.
