Tips for creating a PR.
The aim of creating a public relations plan is usually to raise awareness of a company or organization's entry into new markets, segments or a new product or division.
These are the five tips for creating a comprehensive PR plan:
- Understand your company's current scenario. What changes are needed and why? Draw up a plan for these changes. Discuss your concerns and wishes with senior leadership, where appropriate.
- Set clear objectives. Determine what will be achieved after the plan is implemented. Is it a change in behavior or in the perception of your organization? Do you need more customers? Or greater brand awareness/more sales?
- Define your audience. Who are you trying to reach and what do you need to communicate with your audience? Segmentation is a critical part of ensuring the success of your plan.
- Choose your tactics and channels. How do you communicate with your target audience using a mix of channels? First you need to determine which tactics are the most effective, i.e. those that attract the most attention and which channels they engage with the most.
- Take measurements and make reports. As you develop tactics and channels, it's important to know how you're going to measure and how those measures are going to be reported
