Network specialized in vehicle maintenance aims to cover 75% of the population. The value proposition consists of preventive maintenance and savings for the client, along with a bet on digitalization-related projects.
Lisbon, May 11th - A EuromasterEuromaster, a network of workshops specializing in full vehicle maintenance, plans to reach 100 maintenance centers and have around 600 professionals by 2026 in Portugal, as part of its expansion strategy. With this business plan, Euromaster's main goal is to offer a complete maintenance and assistance service that reaches 75% of the population.
According to the European Automobile Manufacturers Association (ACEA), the Portuguese car fleet has a very advanced average age - 13.5 years. In fact, of the 5.41 million passenger vehicles with Portuguese plates, one in every four was first registered before 2001, i.e., it is more than 20 years old.
However, Portugal is currently experiencing a recovery in registrations. According to data from the Associação Automóvel de Portugal (ACAP), 60,563 units were sold in the first quarter of 2023, 42% more than in the same period of 2022 (although 39% less than in 2019).
Maximum geographical capillarity
Euromaster's goal is to reach the territories where it is not yet present. Of all the districts in Portugal, there are five in which the brand is not yet present, and there are still ten district capitals without any workshop of the network. Furthermore, there is a fundamental focus on the large urban centers, where the largest percentage of the Portuguese GDP is concentrated and where almost half the population lives.
All this expansion effort in Portugal runs in parallel with the development of the network in Spain, so that Euromaster's goal is to reach 600 workshops by 2026 in the Iberian market.
On the other hand, the development of the Euromaster network in Portugal is accompanied by the beginning of the introduction of a value proposition - for commercial/heavy vehicles - which consists in implementing a preventive maintenance offer. This includes several types of periodic reviews that will serve to detect possible malfunctions before they occur or have much more serious consequences, which will translate into significant savings for the end customer.
In parallel, Euromaster will continue to invest in new digitalization-related projects, through solutions that will increase traffic generation in workshops, capturing business on the consumer's main "highway": the Internet.
"We have all the experience of a network with decades of experience in the main European markets, which we want to pass on to Portugal. In addition, people are fundamental, because for Euromaster it's not cars that enter the workshops, but people with a problem or a need. This is our business card to boost our activity in Portugal", says Francis Ferreira, general manager of Euromaster in Portugal and Spain,
