Platform Portugal Agora launched a challenge to think and write about Portugal in the next decade with an editorial project. The result is the book "Portugal Out-of-the-Box", with contributions from nine Portuguese challenged to write about the future
Lisbon, May 2nd, 2023 - The platform Portugal Agora invited a group of people to think and write about the future of Portugal in the decisive period that is the next decade. The result is the book "Portugal Out-o-the-Box - Disruptive Visions for the Future", which will be launched on May 4th (Thursday), from 5:30pm, at the Thalia Theater, in Lisbon.
The project, organized by the Portugal Agora platform (www.portugalagora.com), with the support of the Link To Leaders portal, was financed through crowdfunding and aims to present disruptive solutions that make sense for the country we want to build in the next ten years, during which a set of technological innovations will generate a huge impact on our societies.
The authors who contributed to this project are Pedro Teixeira, CEO of Happy Code Portugal and founder of Associação Ed-Ruptiva, who writes about "Learning and Developing Skills"; Pedro Carmo Oliveira, founder of the Landing Jobs and Talent Protocol platforms, who writes about "Working and Creating Value"; Joana Paiva, founder of iLoF - intelligent Lab on Fiber, who discusses "Aging Healthily"; and Luís Couto, founder of the GoParity platform, who writes about "Investing and Financing".
"The new virtual worlds", by Luís Martins and Miguel Paulo, "Travel and Transport", by Daniela Simões, "Living and inhabiting the city", by Diogo Sousa Rocha, "Reduce, reuse and recycle", by Ana Salcedo, are the other themes and authors of the book coordinated by Carlos Sezões and Leonor Pipa, published by Caminho das Palavras, based on a prospective vision and some creativity.
"In a context of complexity and uncertainty, we cannot plan in a linear way, as we used to. But we can think strategically, build scenarios, seize opportunities and develop disruptive ideas with strong (and positive) social impact and that make sense for the Portugal we want to build in the next decade," summarizes Carlos Sezões, president of the board of Portugal Agora.

About Portugal Nowis a citizenship project that aims to promote a vision for our country based on 4 dimensions (Portugal Attractive, Portugal Knowledge, Portugal Entrepreneur and Portugal Resilient), in order to facilitate the passage from strategy to action - generating concrete proposals for public policies or civil society initiatives. The project was built by a group of citizens (more than 400 subscribers) who volunteered to promote a platform for the realization of this vision.
