CCIAP Hosts Arab Conference: “Arab-Islamic Heritage, Dialogue Among Civilizations”
The Arab-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and Industry will hold the Arab Days on May 17 and 18: “Arab-Islamic Memories, Dialogue Among Civilizations.” The initiative, which aims to promote debate and the sharing of knowledge regarding the Arab-Islamic legacy in Portugal, enjoys the High Patronage and the presence of His Excellency the President of the Republic.

Lisbon, May 11, 2017 – The Arab-Portuguese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIAP) is preparing to organize the 3rd edition of the Arab Days, titled “Arab-Islamic Memories: Dialogue Among Civilizations.”.
The initiative, which aims to promote discussion and the sharing of knowledge regarding the Arab-Islamic legacy in Portugal, will take place on May 17 and 18, in Lisbon and Sintra. It enjoys the High Patronage and the presence of the President of the Republic and is organized in close collaboration with the Union of Arab Chambers, the League of Arab States, and the Arab embassies accredited to Portugal.
The Day May 17, 2017, will be set aside for a symposium to be held in the Auditorium of the Torre do Tombo National Archives in Lisbon, with the participation of prominent figures from the political, cultural, and academic spheres of Portugal, the Arab countries, and Spain, where the focus will be, in the various sessions, topics directly related to the Arab-Islamic historical, cultural, and civilizational legacy.
Scheduled for the second day are, May 18, 2017, Guided tours of Lisbon and Sintra, designed to highlight some of the architectural legacies and remnants, as well as other evidence, of the Arab-Islamic presence in Portugal.
This event is open to anyone interested in expanding their knowledge of the topics to be discussed. It is aimed at civil society in general—including Portuguese, Arab, and Spanish audiences—with a particular focus on: public and private institutions dedicated to knowledge and culture; Universities, colleges, institutes, and other educational institutions; academic and scientific communities; Municipal Entities; Federations and Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Agriculture, and Services in Arab Countries; Portuguese and Arab Business and Sector-Specific Organizations and Associations; Arab and Portuguese Development and Investment Authorities; Students and the general public; Entities and companies seeking to promote and expand knowledge.
