Euromaster recommends paying attention to mechanical stress

Van maintenance

Tires, shock absorbers and brakes among the most "stressed" elements in professional driving. Euromaster recommends frequent attention to some key vehicle elements.

Lisbon, November 10th - In professional driving, time is not gold, it costs money. That's why, for self-employed professionals and hauliers, their priority is "zero downtime", i.e. avoiding the immobilization of the vehicle with the consequent loss of thousands of euros in downtime.

Their vans are subjected to such stress that, according to Euromaster, a network of workshops specializing in comprehensive vehicle maintenance, they need to be serviced every three months, i.e. after around 20,000 kilometers.

Delivery vans are, by definition, often driven to the limit, which means more mechanical wear and tear. The rush to meet schedules, coupled with the fact that these vehicles are loaded and often not very smoothly driven, takes a heavy toll on some of the vehicle's key elements.

This is the case with the tires, which are subjected to a lot of urban driving and intense moments, such as speed bumps or curbs, which put the condition of the tires to the test, especially if you have opted for cheaper models. Shock absorbers also suffer, as the equation of speed and weight puts them in check, as do the brakes. And don't forget the oil and filters, which require frequent and thorough engine maintenance.

Relieve pressure

Maintenance is therefore one of their main expenses, and these professionals and hauliers are especially vulnerable to the current socio-economic context, which has been hit hard by rising taxes and inflation. Hence the need to have an ally close by, a mobility partner that enables savings. In fact, these workers can save up to 40% with good preventive and predictive maintenance.

To do this, it is essential to provide predictive maintenance solutions, anticipate occurrences, reduce downtime and optimize the cost per kilometer of each vehicle. All this allows them to concentrate on their business: transportation. And to leave the condition of their vehicles in experienced and professional hands.

Proximity is also essential. By 2026, Euromaster's goal is to reach 600 centers on the Iberian Peninsula and offer a complete maintenance and assistance service that reaches 75% of the population. In Portugal, the target is 100 maintenance centers and the contribution of 600 specialized professionals.
