IX Montepio Acredita Portugal competition with new partners

January 22, 2019 - The 9th edition of the Montepio Acredita Portugal Entrepreneurship Competition has grown to include two new awards: the H2O Innovation Award and the Autónoma Award, supported by Águas de Gaia and the Autónoma University of Lisbon, respectively. The creation of two new strands leads to to extend the application period until February 17th 2019. The application is free and can be made through the website acreditaportugal.pt.

 

O H2O Innovation Award by Águas de Gaia is an initiative of Águas de Gaia E.M. S.A., and aims to identify, reward and support entrepreneurs in the process of creating and/or expanding businesses related to the water, sanitation and rainwater management sector. It also aims to boost the spirit of initiative and distinguish the promoters of innovative companies in the sector, valuing the project in an integrated way, according to criteria based on the potential of the business and the profile of the entrepreneurs.

Promoters of projects to create or expand companies with innovative and feasible characteristics in the water distribution, sanitation and rainwater management sectors (and environmental sustainability in these three components) can apply for the H2O Innovation by Águas de Gaia Award. All participants in the Montepio Acredita Portugal competition whose project falls within these areas are automatically candidates for the H20 Innovation Award.

In addition to the competition prizes, the winner will also have the opportunity to be incubated by Águas de Gaia and qualify to take part in Eurovision for Startups.

 

O Autónoma Prize, supported by the Autónoma University of LisbonIn the case of the "The Best of the Best" award, it distinguishes communication projects in the areas of marketing, journalism and/or advertising, applied to a business area, and will give priority to projects that focus on creativity and innovation.

UAL will award a scholarship valid for any of its undergraduate, master's or postgraduate courses, provided that the candidate meets the requirements for attendance. If the winning application consists of more than one person, the value of the scholarship will be distributed equally.

Montepio Acredita Portugal is the largest entrepreneurship competition in Portugal and the second largest in the world, and aims to support anyone with a business idea, regardless of age, level of education and location in Portugal, supporting promising projects with specialized know-how for their development and evaluation. The best projects have direct contact with investors, experts and mentors, as well as access to personalized training and the opportunity to join a pre-acceleration program.

In the last edition, more than 11,000 business ideas competed.
