Lisbon, the Capital of Entrepreneurship
The American magazine Forbes has selected five entrepreneurial cities in Europe that are standing out for their business ideas. The author, Alison Coleman, states that, although all eyes are on London and Berlin, there are other cities in Europe that are worthy of attention. The good news is that Lisbon is on the list:
“Having suffered the ignominy of being part of the PIGS (Portugal, Ireland, Greece, and Spain)—the group of countries hardest hit by the Eurozone crisis—many people may be surprised to learn that the Lisbon-based ecosystem is booming.”.
The ease of speaking English and the activity of venture capital firms, such as Faber Ventures and Shilling Capital, are cited as the reasons why nearly 100 companies are founded every day in Portugal.
