Millennial generation, the opening of the new era

MILLENNIAL GENERATION

The Age of Entrepreneurs

The age of entrepreneurs has arrived, and judging by the number of startups springing up every day, it’s here to stay. This is one of the signs of the market’s current evolution and cannot be ignored. The desire for power has given way to the desire to be an entrepreneur. Young people aren’t interested in holding high-level positions; true fulfillment comes from owning something of their own, even if it’s just a small business. There’s only one rule: have an innovative idea.

It is in this context—a socioeconomic environment that cries out for innovation—that companies that have been in the market since the last century (if I may use that expression) are trying to adapt and survive. Never before has the generational gap been felt as strongly in the professional world as it is today.

Fierce competition creates turbulent markets, and managers are at their wits' end. Now the question is: Is this reaction really necessary? No. There is room in the market and business opportunities for everyone; the key is knowing how to take advantage of them.

Focus on solutions, not problems. The solution is simple: “If you can’t beat them, join them.” In other words—and returning to the business context—adapt. Adapt your company to the market. Take younger perspectives into account, listen to those who are succeeding, and don’t dismiss someone just because they’re younger than you. Be a reflection of this era and create an environment where innovation is the watchword.
