Neves de Almeida | HR Consulting, in partnership with Human Resources Portugal and INDEG-ISCTE, is preparing to launch the “Index of Excellence,” a study on organizational climate and human capital development, designed to analyze the state of the art in human resources practices in Portugal and to recognize the organizations that invest the most and are most committed to this area. Registration for the initiative is free and closes on September 30.

Lisbon, September 6, 2016 – Registration opens today for the first edition of the “Index of Excellence” study on organizational climate and human capital development, organized by Neves de Almeida | HR Consulting, in partnership with Human Resources Portugal, Executive Digest, and INDEG-ISCTE. The goal of this study is to identify and promote the key factor that makes a difference in an organization’s success, with the aim of helping organizations leverage the elements that impact employee motivation and the operational results they seek to achieve. The initiative also aims to raise awareness among the Portuguese business community about the importance of issues related to the strategic management of human capital, enabling organizations to identify and evaluate this factor and have their efforts publicly recognized.
According to Pedro Rocha e Silva, a partner at Neves de Almeida | HR Consulting, “Excellence means doing what needs to be done well. In the case of this study, excellence is measured by employees’ perceptions of a diverse set of organizational practices. Ultimately, it means giving a voice to the people in each organization and understanding which aspects they value most and where there is the greatest potential for improvement.”. Recent years have shown us that there has been some stagnation across the various dimensions analyzed in this study, a trend likely linked to the country’s economic situation, which has severely impacted the vast majority of the economy. There are some signs that lead us to believe we may be experiencing a moment of opportunity to achieve higher levels of satisfaction, particularly with regard to human resources management. The first edition of this study will serve as a good test to determine whether these signs actually translate into better results.”
On the one hand, the Excellence Index will provide participating organizations with a powerful set of management insights to support decision-making on strategic aspects of their activities, while also giving employees a voice and involving them in relevant issues. On the other hand, participating companies will have access to a set of results that will allow them to identify areas of highest and lowest satisfaction and compare them with the market, thereby understanding not only where they stand out positively—their X Factor – but also, in which areas they fall below average.
At the same time, enrolling in this study will help organizations to be publicly recognized for their good results, gaining positive visibility with a direct impact on recruitment and the way in which the stakeholders They look to organizations that are recognized for their best practices.
Registration is done through an online platform created for this purpose (available at www.indicedaexcelencia.com) and draws on the analysis of surveys to be conducted among the company’s professionals—both management and employees—with the aim of gauging their opinions on a set of existing practices within the organization and how they perceive the professional environment. The results will be presented at an Awards Ceremony, which will take place during the second half of January 2017.
