“Portugal Agora” discusses learning and skills for the future.
Conference discusses challenges and proposed solutions in the field of education. The “Aprender @PT” initiative is based on a focus on learning as a starting point and placing human capital at the center of a vision for the 21st century
Lisbon, May 3 – The “Portugal Agora” platform is organizing the “Aprender@PT – From Innovation to Learning” Conference on Tuesday, May 7. Starting at 5:30 p.m. at the Lux Lisboa Park Hotel, participants will discuss the challenges facing education and skills development in Portugal, as well as proposed solutions. Admission is free with prior registration.
At this event, which marks the conclusion of the first phase of the Aprender@PT project, the goal is to develop solutions for moving from strategy to action on this journey, which is based on a focus on learning as a starting point, rather than on the “education system,” which should be a consequence.
The initiative aims to identify measures that can accelerate this transformation in Portugal and place human capital at the center of a vision for the 21st century, as part of an agenda to be implemented in Portugal by the public, private, and social sectors, with a focus on cross-sectoral cooperation.
The “Portugal Agora” platform, which aims to exert influence and make an impact and is based on the premise of thinking about the country in the medium and long term, gathered contributions from national and international experts as part of the “Aprender@PT” initiative to develop proposals and build this agenda for the future. Some of these contributions will be discussed at this conference.
“This event aims to conduct a forward-looking analysis and present proposals for a new paradigm of learning.”, says Carlos Sezões, president of the “Portugal Agora” platform.
Specifically, he adds, “”how to equip children, youth, and adults with the skills—both personal and social—that will enable them, on the one hand, to integrate into society in a healthy way and contribute to its development, and, on the other hand, to acquire the competencies needed to face the challenges of the 21st-century workplace".

About Portugal Agora: It is a project that aims to promote a vision for our country based on three dimensions (Attractiveness, Knowledge, Entrepreneurship), with the goal of facilitating the transition from strategy to action—generating concrete proposals for public policies or civil society initiatives.
