Hervé Hélias, CEO and Chairman of the Mazars Group, says “I am very excited to unveil our new identity and positioning after two years of in-depth and extensive consultation with our partners, employees, clients and stakeholders. Our new brand reflects the firm we are today and our aspirations for what we want to be in the future. We are a single global team, with the scale to serve global and local clients around the world while remaining agile, creative and approachable. Wherever we work, we operate as an integrated and collaborative team that combines local knowledge, cultural sensitivity and global perspective, offering our clients a true partnership that gives them confidence in their business and helps them achieve their ambitions.”
Celebrating balanced growth and successful expansion
Mazars is launching a new brand supported by stable, balanced growth and successful expansion, reflecting its strong market position. Last year, the firm recorded revenues of €1.8 billion (financial year 2018/2019), an increase of 10.4% (excluding the impact of exchange rate differences of +0.2%) compared to the previous financial year. The increase in revenues in 2018/2019 was underpinned by strong organic growth of 9%.
O rebranding The new brand also recognizes the evolution of Mazars as an international group present in more than 90 countries and territories, with around 25,000 employees worldwide. The Mazars North America Alliance has added another 16,000 professionals to this number, to respond to Mazars' international clients operating in the USA and Canada. The firm's international expansion is reflected in the geographical distribution of its revenue sources: more than a third of turnover comes from outside Europe. The Asia-Pacific region had the highest growth rate (22.6% in 2018/2019) and now accounts for approximately 15% of Mazars' total revenue.
Commenting on Mazars' growth and expansion, Hervé Hélias states that “In 75 years our guiding principles haven't changed, but our company has. We have doubled in size over the last ten years and the diversity of our offer, clients and talent has increased as we have grown. Today we audit almost 2,000 public interest entities around the world, 30% of the companies listed in France and almost 140 large companies listed in China. At the same time, we work with more than 50,000 private and family-owned companies, from private clients and start-ups to international clients with recognized maturity.”
Mazars is an international and multicultural company that continues to grow. This rebranding helps Mazars to present itself more consistently on a global level, while at the same time celebrating its local roots. Luís Gaspar, Managing Partner of Mazars in Portugal, justifies this identity renewal, since “Although our founding principles remain unchanged, our clients” expectations have changed and society has evolved, which brings new challenges and opportunities and forces us to constantly innovate. In this context, we have always been able to adapt quickly to new demands, preserving our commitment to helping our stakeholders achieve success. The identity now adopted reflects this evolution and reflects who we are, what we do, how we act, how we help our clients, working together and serving the public interest. We felt this was the right time to reaffirm a position of reference in our sector and the promise we make to our clients, people and community."
Offering a balanced and differentiating perspective
By collaborating nimbly on a global scale, being recognized for the diversity and quality of its professional services and empowering its employees to deliver a consistent, high-quality offer tailored to the needs of its clients, Mazars brings a genuinely differentiating perspective to the audit, tax and consulting market, which is reflected in the new brand identity.
“Mazars University has just been awarded CLIP accreditation for the second time in a row. This is the leading certification for corporate universities. We feel a great responsibility towards our people and their employability. Helping them to grow as experts in their fields and empowering them to lead is essential to responding to our clients in accordance with our highest standards and remaining an employer of reference.”, says Hervé Hélias.
The company continues to invest in auditing - in expertise, technology and quality control - and shaping the debate to contribute to a healthy and sustainable auditing industry. “A sector that needs technical and regulatory innovations, quality standards and consistent alternatives.”, explains Hervé Hélias. Although auditing still accounts for almost 50% of its activity, Mazars has developed its range of services in accounting, taxation, legal services, consulting and financial advisory, convinced that this diversity of areas of specialization is highly relevant for companies, which need to operate in complex regulatory markets and grow sustainably, whatever their size.
The new brand identity also reaffirms Mazars' purpose and its long-standing values of integrity and responsibility. At the heart of its commitment to building a just and prosperous world is the company's leading position in the debate on how financial services can help mitigate the effects of climate change, as well as its contribution to collective reflection with all stakeholders. stakeholders to guarantee the quality of the audit and eliminate gap of expectations faced by the profession.
