The importance of SEO for content marketing

When it comes to digital marketing strategies, it’s impossible not to mention SEO (Search Engine Optimization) and SEM (Search Engine Marketing).
It's quick and easy to see how important these tools are to your organization.
Your organization may have the best website ever, with incredibly interesting and well-developed content, but if search engines can't easily find your article or website, what's the point?
What is SEO?
SEO is a tool that involves a set of “rules” or “techniques” that your article must include so that search engines can rank it highly. The result: more traffic to your website through organic (free) search results.
Examples of metrics tracked by SEO:
-
Page title and size;
-
URL;
-
Description of your article;
-
Number of keywords in the text;
-
Related keywords;
-
Links that point to the website (link building);
-
among others.
Why should I use SEO?
There are certain areas that generate the most interest in search engine queries. These areas vary from day to day and even from moment to moment. That’s why it’s important to stay on top of trends and use SEO to help you in this regard.
According to a study by the Relevance:
- The top result on Google receives 18.2% of all traffic;
- The second position receives 10.1%;
- The third 7.2%;
- Wednesday 4.8%;
- All other results are less than 2%.
Given these conclusions, and knowing that without using SEO, your post will most likely end up in “all other results”… the question is:
Are you still going to think that SEO is an unnecessary tool for your content marketing?
