But what, after all, are the basics of communication? It will always be a challenge for companies to find the perfect balance between creativity, scale, scope, and available resources, given the constant evolution and demands of the market. However, for organizations that develop the right strategy, actions, and tools, these elements contribute to building strong, sustainable brands over time, with increased levels of credibility and trust.
Knowing how to respond to this challenge and how to ensure the success of our organization’s strategy in the face of the identified challenges is the question that all communications leaders must inevitably address, the the million-dollar question for those who want to build a genuine relationship with their audience.
Every good idea goes through an inevitable transition—from being just a more or less abstract idea to a project that will be evaluated by the public. This interaction involves telling a story that creates a meaningful and emotional connection. It is in this process of crafting an original message that knowing how to communicate becomes essential. And it is also when creating and presenting this message that new projects sometimes lose their way and make mistakes.
It was in this context that Say U received an invitation from Associação Acredita Portugal to develop the workshop “Comm 101 to 360 – The Basics of Communication for Startups and Entrepreneurs”. Say U’s journey—with communication and marketing strategies designed specifically for SMEs and startups—forms the foundation for the expertise we can share and use to empower other professionals. In this workshop, we set out to help participants reflect on how brands can tell their story and find their own voice—one that transforms a clear and simple message into something interesting and unique.
Above all, it was an opportunity for personal growth, development, and learning. Anyone who doesn’t pursue opportunities like this is ignoring their own entrepreneurial spirit.
