Crossability: the toughest training ever

Crossability: the toughest training ever

Crossability

The Salvador Association has developed a campaign to raise awareness of the difficulties people with disabilities can have accessing public spaces. The concept of the campaign is based on the creation of a new sport, described as “the hardest training ever”Crossability. It's a sport based on the obstacles that people with motor disabilities face every day when trying to access public spaces.

To publicize the campaign, 12 crossfit athletes were invited to train. Each exercise represents a common difficulty for wheelchair users, such as climbing stairs or getting into the car through the trunk.

The main aim of the campaign was to raise awareness of the issue among the Portuguese population and to encourage people to download the +Acesso mobile application. The app allows you to identify places that don't comply with accessibility rules for public spaces.

Following the launch of the campaign, a documentary was made about the process of creating the new sport. The work of the Garage production company, it was the only Portuguese work to win silver in the Entertainment category at the Eurobest Creativity Festival.
