FOOTBALLISM manages player training in Nigeria
The FootballISM platform is the solution chosen to manage several soccer academies in Nigeria, in a partnership that could extend to 10 schools in the country. The platform coordinates the day-to-day activities of more than 300 athletes at Barça Academy Lagos. It includes, among other things, player management components, scouting, technical area and logistics.
Lisbon, November 28, 2018 - The platform FootballISM, The platform, developed by agap2IT and aimed at rethinking sports management strategies, promoting best practices and a more efficient working environment through the implementation of an original technological solution, is being implemented at Barça Academy Lagos in Nigeria, one of the many soccer schools that FC Barcelona has around the world. A second academy, which belongs to the Southampton FC network, will also start managing the platform in January 2019. The agreement is part of a wider project to create a total of 10 soccer academies in this African country.
The FootballISM platform manages the training of more than 300 players at Barça Academy Lagos, aged between 8 and 19. It is run with the experience of FC Barcelona's La Masia school, which has produced talents such as Lionel Messi, Andrés Iniesta and Xavi Hernandez. Three dozen professionals with extensive experience work at the school in Nigeria. With the launch of Southampton's academy, the future of more than 600 athletes will be managed by the platform.
The academy presents itself as a center for the development of young people and the empowerment through the practice of soccer. It is the first institution of its kind in Nigeria and sub-Saharan Africa and provides opportunities for potential athletes in the country and on the continent to receive excellent training and improve their skills.
