Doctors of the World brings together artists for a charity concert

Médicos do Mundo is bringing together several national artists for a charity concert to help fund the association's projects. Presented by Médicos do Mundo's Ambassador, Sílvia Alberto, the initiative is the first moment of the organization's publicity campaign for this year.

Poster_ConcertoSolidárioMdMLisbon, March 1st, 2016 - Médicos do Mundo is preparing to hold a Solidarity Concert, with the participation of several well-known national artists who will sponsor the event, including Ala dos Namorados, Camané, David Fonseca, Jorge Palma, Pedro Abrunhosa, Sérgio Godinho, Soul Gospel Project and Yolanda Soares. The concert will take place on March 22, 2016 at 9.30pm at the Tivoli BBVA Theater in Lisbon and will be presented by Sílvia Alberto, Ambassador of Médicos do Mundo. With a cost of between €15.00 and €35.00, tickets are already available at the Tivoli BBVA Theater, on the platform Ticketline and usual places.

For Fernando Vasco, Vice-President of Médecins du Monde, "The motto for this event and for the entire campaign to promote Médecins du Monde (Doctors of the World) throughout this year is the association's relevance and actions. A fundamental dimension of our work is our ability to give a voice to the voiceless, to make those who are most often forgotten and ignored visible and the target of attention and commitment. This mission naturally involves mobilizing resources, which are essential if the planned actions are to actually take place and have an effective impact on the population we support".

This initiative is the first action in the "WE ARE ALL VIABLE" campaign, which aims to raise funds to support the various projects that Médecins du Monde is currently developing in Portugal, enabling the association to continue providing free basic health care to the most vulnerable populations and to combat discrimination against them. At a time when there are more cases of poverty and social exclusion in Portugal, the Médicos do Mundo Association is receiving more and more requests for help, while at the same time facing a decrease in public, corporate and private financial support.
