The best Experiential Marketing Christmas campaigns

Experiential Marketing Christmas Campaigns

Christmas campaigns

O experiential marketing involves the public and allows them to be part of the campaigns and the brand itself. Brands that engage with their consumers and tell them a story are the ones that stick in their minds.

Campaigns are usually carried out in very busy and unexpected places. Have you ever thought of a campaign in an airport?

In today's article, we present two Christmas experiential marketing campaigns in airports that have been successful around the world:

WestJet Christmas Miracle

We all think airports are boring places, especially during festive seasons like Christmas, with endless waiting times and lots of lost luggage...

To counter this stereotype, Canadian airline WestJet created a campaign in which its employees turned into Santa's helpers, gathering and wrapping personalized gifts for their passengers. When they opened their luggage, they found a small “Christmas miracle”.

Richard Bartem, WestJet's VP of communications and community relations, explains the why this campaign:

Christmas Surprise at Copenhagen Airport

Can you imagine an airport run by Santa Claus? Copenhagen Airport surprised passengers by creating its own “Christmas miracle” with lights, snow and some presents on the baggage claim carousel.

KLM serves a Bonding Christmas Buffet

Airports are very busy places. But it's very common to see people alone.

To get around this habit, Dutch airline KLM has come up with an unusual way of uniting passengers around a Christmas buffet.

These are just a few examples of successful experiential marketing campaigns that have provided an incredible, out-of-the-box experience for their passengers.

Merry Christmas!
