KCS IT Adapts to Grow in a Challenging Context

Growing up in a challenging environment

Growing up in a challenging environment

KCS IT responds to the recent context by reorganizing its work processes and adapting its offer to the market, and sets growth targets. Last quarter of the year indicates opportunities for recovery and demand for investment in IT.

Faced with a context marked by the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic, the consequent changes imposed in terms of working methodologies and new needs identified in the market, KCS IT has sought to adapt and be resilient, to grow in a context of challenges. The strategy followed of improving and restructuring services and creating new departments allows us to look to this year with optimism, following the economic recovery, investment in IT and the achievement of new projects already seen in the last quarter of 2020, and to set billing targets of €16M.

The strategy followed to respond to the challenges encountered in recent months has been threefold: (i) teleworkingthrough the use of technology for a new way of working and interacting with staff and clients; (ii) proximity with the teamensuring that work is carried out in a spirit of proximity and unity, despite the physical distance; (iii) restructuringIt's also about the services and the way the consultant presents herself to clients.

As Tiago Farinha, Managing Director of KCS IT, explains, "We never doubted that we would be able to overcome the challenges of 2020. We had to make decisions that today, with hindsight, we can see were the right ones. Our expectations for this year are already being exceeded: we've had a very interesting first quarter, one of recovery, with a positive feeling about the way the market is evolving and our business prospects, in line with the growth trend seen in recent years."

"The way forward has already been identified, both internally, with an effort to retain Talent and be close to our team, and externally, with targets for growth, adaptation to the market and innovation in the offer made available"he adds.

Among the plans for growth in 2021 are the aggregation of a range of services in a new business unit dedicated to consultancy. This aims to respond to a market with growing and diverse needs, as a result of the evolution of organizations and the technologies that support them. In this sense, response and service models have to be adapted to new demands and encapsulated in flexible, multidisciplinary formats that are capable of delivering projects to clients.

The focus is also on the technological hub Terceira Tech Island. KCS IT hopes to soon be equipped with a technological innovation unit, with a roadmap of R&D projects with a view to the production and marketing of innovation and R&D support services.

At a time when the relationship with employees is being transformed and redefined, talent management is also a fundamental concern. KCS IT's People & Talent department is responsible for implementing processes to ensure ever closer monitoring of each Consultant, investing in their professional growth, identifying and supporting their career development and skills, promoting the possibility of participation in reference projects at national and international level and providing training and certification opportunities in various areas.
