Inductiva closes €2.25M investment round to help engineers and scientists

Porto, December 2023 - Inductiva, the Portuguese startup that is developing the computational platform that helps companies and scientific laboratories simulate, predict and optimize physical processes in various fields of science and engineering, has closed a seed investment round of 2.25 million euros.

This capital injection represents an important milestone for Inductiva, a startup founded in 2021, and reflects the investors' strong confidence in its vision and market potential, which is expected to grow globally as more and more industries adopt large-scale computational methods in their Digital Transformation processes.

This seed round was led by Iberis Capital, a Portuguese private equity e venture capital recognized for supporting transformative technology projects. Iberis Capital was joined by other prominent investors in the national market, including Shilling, the leading Portuguese VC in rounds early-stage e 6 angel investors - Maria João Souto, João Penedones, Terry Huang, Ryan MacDonald, Ralf Herbrich and João Barros - leaders in different areas of research, entrepreneurship and big techs such as Microsoft, Google, Zalando, Amazon, among others.

"We are excited to share the news of the closing of our seed round of 2.25 million euros," says Luís Sarmento, CEO of Inductiva. "This funding round highlights the commitment of our entire team to address what we believe is a key problem that has been overlooked: the need for a modern and agile infrastructure to perform large-scale physics simulations in combination with AI techniques for various scientific and industrial domains. Inductiva provides an API in Python that allows you to run simulations at scale on-premise and cloud with maximum simplicity. With this round of investment, we are in a position to go further in the innovation process, broadening our offer of computational functionalities for engineers and scientists and expanding our customer base among startups, scientific laboratories and large industrial companies."

Luís Quaresma, partner of Iberis Capital, also expressed his enthusiasm for "supporting Inductiva on its journey to redefine the simulation and AI industry". "From the outset, we were impressed by Inductiva's unique approach, exceptional team and vision," he says. This investment comes at a time when industries such as pharmaceuticals, the design of new materials, renewable energies - among other global lines of action aimed at mitigating the climate change - are increasingly turning to simulation tools. "We firmly believe in the potential of Inductiva's computing platform to revolutionize the simulation landscape and accelerate the digital transformation process of various industries. Clearly, Inductiva is providing a computational platform for organizations to quickly bring innovative solutions to market," stresses the CEO. partner from Iberis.

With the successful closing of the round seedInductiva is ready to enter the next phase of expansion, with the aim of becoming the global leader in the AI and Simulation sector.
