About Casa das Cores

Casa das Cores (House of Colours) is a temporary shelter for children in danger, whose protection and guarantee of rights is, at some point in their lives, institutionalized. It is a home prepared to receive 12 children of both sexes, where the conditions closest to those of a healthy and balanced family environment can be created, allowing them to build and achieve happier life projects.

At the same time, the aim is to work on each family's needs and potential, empowering its members to be the subjects of their own change, with a view to re-establishing family ties. All of this is done in conjunction with community resources, promoting the maintenance of formal and informal family and community support networks (with projects and responses that already exist locally).
